Emma Raducanu is through to the second round at Wimbledon 2022. It could've been all over on the first day, but she has kept her hopes of a strong tournament alive with a tremendous victory.

The 19-year-old produced a solid display to weave through the first day of the women's singles tournament.

Raducanu's debut on Centre Court against Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck appeared to be a very real banana skin draw, but she navigated the tie well and moves into the last 64 competitors.

The British teenager stepped foot inside the grounds of SW19 last year without fanfare, but reached the fourth round and broke through into British hearts across the land.

Raducanu returns in 2022 as a superstar, the first British woman to win a Grand Slam since 1977, and she will be determined to extend her adventure at The Championships.

Caroline Garcia v Emma Raducanu [10]

Garcia represents another tough draw for Raducanu. She is a seasoned competitor who once ranked at No.4 in the world in September 2018.

Since then, she has experienced a slide down the rankings to No.55. Her form has notably dipped, but Raducanu must not be complacent against a one-time French Open quarter-finalist with eight career titles to her name.
